Score this cordless 2-in-1 Shark vacuum while it’s down to $100: ‘Weighs so little, yet it is so powerful’

Both sucked so much dust from our dusty dining chair that it actually changed the color of the upholstery to a whiter white. While Dyson vacuums offer scientifically-backed machines with an excellent reputation shark handheld vacuum for quality, their products often tip towards four figure price points. Shark, on the other hand, tops out at around $499 for even their luxe models—which is closer to the price of Dyson’s budget line.

In several cases, the dustbin’s weight was greater than the amount of debris on the floor, so it picked up more dirt than was originally there. From its dual brushrolls and odor-neutralizing cartridge to its handy lift-away canister, the powerful Shark Stratos vacuum is thoughtfully designed from top to bottom with exceptional performance on carpets and hard floors. And if you have hard floors, look for a vacuum cleaner that comes with a dedicated cleaner head, which has a softer brush roll to ensure the flooring isn’t damaged when vacuuming. In everyday use we felt that the best feature here is the built-in laser, which shines a green light on your floors so you can see dirt and dust that would otherwise be invisible. Previously called the Roidmi S1E, we found the R10 to be lightweight and easy to use in both stick cleaner or handheld mode.

The newest stick vacuums are cordless so they make cleaning quick and easy without sacrificing efficiency and power. In testing, we found that this pet hair vacuum is extremely easy to maneuver around carpeting and hard floors, and its light weight makes it easy to carry around, too. However, because of its top-heavy design, we discovered the vacuum tips over very easily, even if it’s propped up against something, so be sure to stow it properly when it’s not in use. The Pet Pro’s dustbin offers no-touch emptying, and the cleaner head has LED headlights to help illuminate hidden dust and debris for a more thorough clean. The Dyson V11 cordless vacuum is engineered with the power, versatility, and run time to deep clean homes with pets.

It features the strong suction power you can expect from the rest of the brand’s Navigator line, and it impressed us with how easy it is to push across hardwood floors and carpets of all kinds. Pesky pet hair, allergen-inducing dust and inconvenient crumbs are no match for the cleaning power of the Kenmore 600 series bagged canister vacuum with pet power mate. This handy small appliance tackles hardwood, laminate and carpet with ease thanks to its multipurpose all-floors design. A pop-n-go floor brush located in the front storage case makes quick work of messes while a motorized pet power mate attachment lifts stubborn hair, dander and more from carpeting, baseboards and furniture without issue. Pesky pet hair, allergen-inducing dust and inconvenient crumbs are no match for the cleaning power of the Kenmore 600 series bagged canister vacuum with pet PowerMate.

After obsessively researching popular and highly-rated mop vacs at various price points, over the years, I’ve tried 12 models at home. I assembled each according to the manual (or quick start guide if included) and fully charged the batteries as instructed. When you’re done, the S7 self cleans itself and charges on a dock that has additional storage for the included cleaning brush and spare microfiber roller. This model also comes with a cleaning brush, an extra HEPA filter, and a small bottle of cleaning solution concentrate (only a capful is needed for each cleaning cycle).

Used in high power mode, it worked almost as well as the much more powerful Dyson, although you only get about 10 minutes out of it in this setting. (A second battery is available separately.) It makes the vacuum much harder to push around, but that’s a sign of its intensity. I was slightly disappointed to learn that it didn’t have any sort of anti-hair wrap technology, especially at this price point. I did have to cut long hair out of the brush head a couple of times. The hair also caused issues when emptying the dustbin, as it wound itself around the filter and meant I had to stick my hand inside to loosen. It’s rather eccentric looking, a far cry from anything Dyson produces, so it might surprise you to hear that it was invented by two ex Dyson employees.

In addition to suffering from battery failure on occasion, cordless stick vacs are prone to the same clogs, cracked plastic, and other mechanical failures as plug-in machines. We combed through owner reviews provided by an AI-assisted analysis service called FindOurView to pinpoint obvious design flaws or quality-control issues. We called customer service for each of our top performers to experience the process and to determine how easy it was to order new parts. This nimble, high-tech model is light, powerful, and easy to maneuver. The vacuum performs fairly well on low-pile carpet in its Clean Sense IQ setting.

It aced all of our cleaning tests with its powerful suction and great brush action, removing virtually all of the pet hair we spread across our test carpets in just one pass. We applaud Dyson for switching from its trigger on/off switch (something many users complained about) to a traditional on/off button for this model. The laser light on the fluffy floor head is a game changer when it comes to cleaning in dark corners and other places where dirt is difficult to see. It’s lightweight and easy to maneuver and the only hiccup we found is that it doesn’t stand up on its own unless you put it into its wall-mounted caddy. They now offer multiple power levels, more powerful and longer-lasting batteries and innovative attachments that may just put your full-size vacuum out of business. Cordless stick vacuums offer much better mobility than regular vacuum cleaners.

Though it’s billed for pet owners, it’s got enough suction power for everyone’s cleaning needs and could certainly function as your home’s main vacuum. All of the cordless vacuums we tested were between 4 and 7 pounds, but none were so heavy that it affected our recommendation. All of the vacuums on this list were also very similar in height and overall size.

We’ve never seen a vacuum cleaner that folds this flat before, which made it fun to use, as well as less effort, with no need to bend down. We also appreciated the fact the vacuum can stand upright on its floor brush rather than having to lean against a wall, and, as it’s just 69cm tall, it’s not difficult to find somewhere to store it. The included crevice and dusting tools are both stored on the vacuum, so, you won’t need to scrabble around to find them. This is convenient to store, fast to charge and light to push around to clean up dirt fast. With a wall storage bracket, you can keep clutter off your floors and easily find the V8 when you need it. The hose is also surprisingly flexible – we didn’t expect it to have a 180-degree sideways swivel and a 90-degree up and down angle, given the low price.
