A center height of 112″ allows even the tallest member of the family to be comfortable under the canopy. The biggest issue in all of this is the inability to withstand any rotational pressure during medium and high impact weather conditions as the joints become unstable and collapse at the mid points. In windy conditions high stress is applied to each side and the frame begins to break down at the unreinforced joint connectors. A straight leg canopy (obviously) utilizes a straight leg profile.
I’m highly debating getting a bear can rather than doing food hangs, but that is, as they say, up in the air right now. Many newer tent brands like EZ-Up use revolutionary thumb lock sliders or larger easy to release buttons, which are a much better user experience when setting the canopy up or taking it down. With the push buttons you need to worry about pinching fingers or not being able to release the button when it gets rusted, which is never a pleasant experience. The legs extend to give the top peak a height of about 8’10” which will be plenty of headroom for anyone underneath. It’s worth highlighting that despite the advertised dimensions of the 10×10 Ozark Trail, because this is a slant leg shelter the top only measures 8×8. While it might not sound like much, that is a difference of 64 sq. Ft. of shade coverage which we find to be quite significant.
A push-button on the frame allows it to lock safely into place. It also includes a holder that can be used to support a banner. Use the canopy for outdoor picnics or parties in the park.
Also, when people I know ask me what I’m bringing, I can divert them here—I find that once I write something, I dislike regurgitating the same opinions. I’ll likely make another post when I’m done hiking detailing what I like and don’t like after being used for months. The tent sites that are waypointed on FarOut all ozark trail chair seem to have a fire ring and chairs made out of flat rocks circling. There is space for 2-3 tents here, so we chose the flattest spot with the least amount of poison ivy to set up our tent.
