One tube at a time in either direction will be closed intermittently, Monday to Friday from 11 pm to 5 am next morning, through June 28, 2024, to facilitate inspection, maintenance, and repairs. Also, both northbound and southbound tubes will be intermittently closed Monday to Friday from 11 pm to 5 am through May 31, 2024, to facilitate hydrostatic testing. The approach from the Hugh Carey Tunnel to the westbound Gowanus/BQE will be closed from approximately 9 a.m. Due to this off-property closure, all traffic exiting the tunnel in Brooklyn will be diverted to Hamilton Avenue during this time, and the Trinity Place exit in Manhattan will also be closed from approximately 7 a.m.
