Kent Women’s Valkyrie Mountain E Bike Adult Bikes Sports & Outdoors

Speaking of steps, the step-thru frame comes in only one size but should fit most riders five feet and taller. Kent currently offers three electric models for adults, plus one for kids. Alongside the 27-inch Kent Electric and Kent Step-Through Electric, the Cruiser is more of a unisex offering and is available exclusively from Walmart. Your bike frame & fork are protected under our Lifetime Warranty policy.

The Kent Electric Cruiser is a very pretty bike, with the removable Samsung lithium-ion battery integrated into the frame. Given the fire-engine red color scheme, 26-inch whitewall tires, and swooping handlebars, I felt like a fatter, hairier Pee Wee Herman pedaling around my city. If you’re looking for an inexpensive ebike for casual weekend rides, the Kent Electric Cruiser demands consideration. The price means that it lacks some of the advanced features of many electric models, and even more basic ones like quick release, but it looks great and rides well.

In addition to serving college students and downtown visitors, Spin is a lifeline for people in Fort Collins who don’t have transportation. Now I ride mostly for recreation/activity (health), and when possible I commute. And yes, the Lectric XPremium is probably the best game in time now when it comes to mid-drives at affordable prices. For just a bit more at $1,799, the dual batteries, significantly higher power/speed, kent electric bike hydraulic disc brakes, and a pile of other features blow this Kent bike away. But Lectric’s model is also a folding fat tire e-bike and won’t fulfill the trail bike role that Kent’s offering here claims to satisfy. With a price of $1,498, Kent’s mid-drive e-bike certainly isn’t competing with the several thousand dollar models that use German mid-drive motors, and so it likely opts for a Chinese motor.

Mid-drive motors, on the other hand, are more costly to produce due to their more complicated design. That complication also makes them a bit more touchy, at least for new riders that aren’t used to shifting a bike. For our third eMTB trip, I chose a 16-mile gravel forest service road in nearby Helen, Georgia.

In all communication, please include the bike/scooter 7-digit license plate number and issue or reason for relocation. To see how much fun the Kent Torpedo e-bike is, check out my video review below! Then keep reading for my complete thoughts and testing (yes, I rode it too!). While the Electric Cruiser was lighter than most e-bikes I’ve tested over the years, I would still hate to have to haul it upstairs or lift it onto a car rack. I contacted Kent’s customer service about a different issue and an actual human being answered the phone after just a couple of rings. I’m confident if a customer had an issue, they’d quickly try to resolve it.

I installed new front forks on my bike, purchased her a ride, and we started making the weekly trek for a short 30-minute trail excursion. One day while riding a local trail, I took a wrong turn and found myself on a black diamond trail with some huge drop-offs. My front suspension forks took the brunt of the punishment and consequently locked up. For the next couple of years, I continued to ride that bike with the broken forks because standard MTB trails—the greens and blues—don’t require high-end shocks (or apparently any shocks at all). The website also hosts a safety quiz that reinforces the messages seen in the videos about proper rider behavior, including where to ride and how to park. Retailing for under $700 (around £515/AU$970), the Kent Electric Cruiser was created for them. S-200 1st Edition is a cutting edge three-wheeled e-scooter with enhanced suspension and a larger wheel base. S-200 offers the safest ride on the market with three independent braking systems (regenerative rear brake, front and rear drum brakes) and turn signals on the handlebars. S-200 has a front and rear-facing camera embedded in the scooter that allows our remote operators to reposition the e-scooter as needed.

Mark Hopgood, 55, a software engineer and musician from Sevenoaks, Kent, came up with the idea earlier in 2024 after his electric bike broke down and he was quoted £1,200 to buy a new one. The advantages of mid-drive motors, though, mean that you’ll usually find them on higher-end electric bikes, whereas low-cost electric bikes tend to favor hub motors. The rest of Kent’s mid-drive e-bike fits more in line with the other budget models in its class.

It can help your kids ride even longer, extending that family Sunday ride even further than 15 miles (25 km). While the battery seems to last for a while on low power mode, high mode drains it quicker. I asked Kent Bicycles about the possibility of buying spare batteries to swap in and make for a longer ride, and they’re looking into offering them on their website.

It held a 155-lb adult flying through the air, even though I was half expecting a pedal to snap off on my repeated landings. But no, the thing is overbuilt for its ratings, just like Kent’s lawyers surely kent hybrid bike insisted that it should be. The V-brakes similarly aren’t incredibly high quality, but then again, they work just fine. This is a $498 kids e-bike after all – not a $17,000 S-Works for lycra-clad dads.
