Ozark Trail Outdoor Equipment & Camping Gear

The Wawona doesn’t come with a footprint—few tents this size do—but it’s otherwise all-inclusive, and it is compact considering how much livable space you get. The price also reflects the high quality of the materials, such as the four reinforced aluminum poles, which weigh little yet result in a remarkably strong tent. Car campers who plan to brave miserable weather will appreciate the extra strength and protection of the REI Co-op Base Camp 4 Tent. The main bodies of our other picks are structured with two main poles with added support from smaller brow poles.

Easy to set up and pack away, the Mineral King 3 is a lightweight, two-door tent with a generous footprint and a sturdy dome shape. It’s the perfect choice for three-season multipurpose camping. We just bought this tent over the weekend and put it up. I really liked the way it looked and the space but will not be able to use it due to the leaks. The Base Camp tents include a low side vent and multiple stuff pockets on the walls and ceiling, which are made of 75D polyester treated with 1500mm of polyurethane waterproofing.

Many of our picks use grommet attachments, which are more secure and simple to repair than key attachments if anything should break. A senior staff writer at Wirecutter, Kit Dillon has written about everything from backpacks and cooking gear to luggage and road-tripping. It is oddly relevant work for testing aluminum tent poles. Nestled in a serene valley among the rolling Missouri hills, Ozark Outdoors Resort is your ultimate escape for relaxation and bonding with friends. Imagine camping and living by the majestic Meramec River, where your days are filled with adventure, laughter, and the company of friends. Crafted from robust 18/8 stainless steel with a sleek powder coating finish, this tumbler stands the test of time, resisting scratches, rust, and the mingling of flavors.

The tent is open at the top with a weather rain fly that fits over the dome. The fly is so small it allows rain to blow up under and then runs into the tent. I live in Canada and find these tents to be very good. If you a experienced camper like myself you would know that you have to use a tarp to cover your tent so that the water does not get inside when it rains.

The legs extend to give the top peak a height of about 8’10” which will be plenty of headroom for anyone underneath. If you can afford to spend more on a family tent, we recommend The North Face Wawona 6. Everyone who tested this tent loved it, and it’s not hard to understand why.

I will never buy an Ozark Trail tent in my life and I will tell everyone I know that if they buy one what to expect. And that is you will never be dry in one because they suck bad. Only complaint was the zipper hangs on the front door flap, destroyed flap and zipper. They claim they are weather tested, but I feel they don’t include rain or wind as elements of the weather. This piece of crap promises the buyer a lot for a lot of money, but what you get is something of lesser quality than if you bought a tent from the local Dollar store. Overall this is a wonderful tent that has held up well to many years of family camping.
