Ozark Trail 10 Person Dark Rest Instant Cabin Tent

Not only does this Ozark Trail tent have the lowest peak height of any other 6-person cabin tent I’ve tested, it also has one of the least vertical walls I’ve ever seen. This isn’t an instant tent, but ease of use is still a high point of this model thanks to the simple setup. Just slide the roof poles into place, then plug the side and corner poles into their designated hubs and raise it all up. Two people can get this cabin set up in about five minutes, but setting the 2 Room Cabin up solo isn’t out of the question either. As this tent is meant to house 10 people sleeping side-to-side, a more realistic number is 6-7, as you still need space to move around the cabin.

If we had to spend a day in the tent during a storm, would it be comfortable? After first removing the models that failed the structural tests, we slept, watched the stars, and ate our meals in all of the tents, as well as planned hikes from them. There are also 4 elbow joints, which helps to connect some of the poles, and this also make up the instant mechanism. The stitching on this tent isn’t the best, there were quite a few areas of patchwork all around the entire tent, so unfortunately, that’s another con against this tent when it comes to quality.

And finally, the biggest con is probably that the quality isn’t the best with the slightly sticky tent fabric, loose threads, snagging issues and inconsistent mesh. The Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent also comes with a room divider, so you can split the tent into 2 rooms, and each “room” can fit 2 queen-sized camping mattresses. If there’s no rain, you can unzip the windows for more ventilation, and there’s a bug net to prevent larger bugs from getting in. It took me about double the time to set it up on my own (so, 20 minutes). But unfortunately, because I’m not tall (I’m 5’3″), I couldn’t get the rainfly up on my own, and that’s where I got stuck.

In our tests, an experienced camper took only about six minutes on the first try to set up the tent body alone and stake it out. Getting the fly placed and staked properly took about five more minutes. For this guide, we focused on tents that suit the most common terrains you’re likely to encounter when car-camping—grassy lawns or clearings, beaches, dirt campsites, and basic platforms—in spring, summer, and fall. We’re not looking at tents designed for such specialized activities as mountaineering, backpacking, or winter camping, though some of our recommendations have cross-over potential. You can also set up the tent without the fly while retaining some privacy, since the tent body has a high polyester wall on one side. Easy to set up and pack away, the Mineral King 3 is a lightweight, two-door tent with a generous footprint and a sturdy dome shape.

If you’re going on a backpacking trip, then size & weight of the tent are very important; in this case, you’ll probably want to get the regular size. If you want to invest in a good tent that you will be able to use several times for your camping ozark trail shower tent trips, then a good durable tent is what you’re looking for. With 7 mesh windows and a full mesh roof, the Ozark trail has great ventilation. It has a full mesh roof, and huge mesh windows, perfect for ventilation during those hot nights.

You have to add the fly as well, so it is best to have somebody to help you. This is why I have added it to my list of best instant camping tents. Like most tents fit for 3-season trips, you’ll find a lot of mesh openings throughout Ozark trail 12 person tent. The roof is fully screened without the rainfly on, which makes for lovely stargazing at night.
