The animals were more spectacular than I even imagined. The peace and justice issues with Mandela’s history were very impactful. There was a lot of bus riding, but the countryside is diverse and beautiful. Our group was diverse but what a well-traveled knowledgeable and fun-loving group of travelers!!! Our guide, Anni, was totally amazing. She was decisive, proactive and left no stone unturned when a problem turned up.
She could translate with local artists and knew the locations that might not be safe. She has a quick wit and humor schwinn electric bike that brought a light-hearted charm to days that were long and cultures that are different from the ones we were more familiar with. Her knowledge gave us a depth of understanding of local history and cultures we experienced. Our trip was fantastic in every way one can imagine.
