In my mind, I was envisioning a cold November evening having hunted all day and facing a ride back to camp with all of my gear. As far as the ride goes, this bike is really comfortable and well built. This model has a 29″ frame built for riders 6′ and up, but Hyper also has a comparable bike with a 26″ frame for riders below 6′.
There’s a custom tool wrap and a plastic door that securely latches down, allowing you to mount a water bottle – our Expedition Bottles fit nicely on the size XL. There’s even a built-in concealed AirTag/Tile compartment for theft prevention. The headset has built-in +/- 5 mm adjustability with separate cups, allowing you to tune the extension for a proper fit. This four-bar system might feel dated in an era with more hyper bicycles complicated systems, like that Druid V2 that Travis lauded so much, but the Horst Link remains a tried-and-true platform. I think these differences are even more pronounced on drop-bar carbon gravel road bikes than on full-suspension bikes, where the characteristics can be muddied by suspension and tire selection. Once the suspension was dialed and I wholeheartedly committed to POS.1, the revelation occurred.

There is only so much a motor can do and you shouldn’t expect an Ebike to have the same towing capacity as an ATV. The Hyper MTB Ebike is honestly one of the most reasonably priced Ebikes that I have come across while scouring the web. One of the biggest things that we were looking for was a bike that was a fit physically and also had enough capability to haul additional weight for our gear when hunting. Admittedly, neither of us are in peak physical condition, sitting around the 220 LBS mark for personal weight, but the bike has a rider capacity of 275 LBS which is more than enough. Even if we were to load a bag for the day and our bows or crossbows, we wouldn’t even come close to hitting the maximum weight capacity. Beyond the rider weight, you can also use a trailer to take the strain off of your back and pull your gear behind you.
