Walmart: Ozark Trail 12′ x 12′ Instant Canopy $45

From a positive perspective, the lightweight design increases portability which is certainly important in carrying the tent to its intended location. From a negative perspective, the weight is indicative of a lack of high quality material and components used throughout the shelter. The included carrying bag does not have wheels to aid in transportation, but at only 29 lbs. We don’t find that to be a noteworthy drawback as the nylon handles and shoulder strap work just fine in carrying the tent. The legs are locked into place with old school metal push button locks, something you won’t see on many modern pop up tents now-a-days.

To take this a step further, you may encounter a noticeable change in flavor as your coffee’s temperature reduces. If you click on the slant leg canopy, parts that are available will pop up. Now I have a functioning canopy and all it really took is about 5 hours of time including the print time. I tried to find this part to buy and couldn’t locate it, so I made it, right here in my own house and that is the best thing about 3d printing. I debated about returning the canopy and ordering a new one but then I thought that this would be a great use of the 3d printer. You should further secure side panels, either sun screen or mesh style, by staking them along the bottom using the provided grommet holes to ensure a tight seal that will keep out cold drafts and flying insects.

The tent comes with a full rain fly that adds two vestibules for storage (each 14 square feet), totaling 115 square feet of livable space—which is fairly generous yet still practical for most campsites. The Kelty Wireless 6 is a spacious tent that is easy to pitch, and it offers solid weather protection and durability for a reasonable price. Like the Mineral King 3, it has a simple, dome-style design that maximizes ozark trail canopy livability and minimize headaches. With 87 square feet of interior space, plus 28 square feet of vestibule space, the polyester tent fits four adults comfortably, or two adults with two or three children, with plenty of room to store gear and muddy boots. (As its name indicates, it’s meant to house six people, but we wouldn’t recommend that.) The Wireless 6 has two large doors and a full rain fly.

With the locking lid, there appears to be more heat transference than the open mouth lid. Even with the locking lid absorbing more heat, it does provide a few degrees more heat retention over time. Using a thermal imaging scope from ATN, I filled one of the 22oz mugs with water boiled to 185 degrees Fahrenheit and another filled with water boiled to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The speed does not create the prettiest quality on my printer but its still solid and no layer separation.

The unique enlarged dome design allows for more comfortable head room while still maintaining that great low profile. Normally this is where I need to go back and make adjustments to the measurements but this time it slides right on with a snug fit. Not very often do I get the measurements right on the first go but this time it worked out perfectly. We are even printing a few extra of these to have around and keep in the canopy bag for future mishaps.

We wanted to do an in-depth review of this popular instant shelter and ultimately give our recommendation as to if this value brand tent is worth the lower price point vs. the higher quality but more expensive ozark trail chair competition. We also appreciated the shepherd’s hook stakes that come with the tent. Most of the tents we tested came with basic L-shaped stakes, which tended to spin around in the soil and slip a line.
